I will tell you this...I am not sure how Spanish Cedar sounds compared to BRW but it certainly doesn't taste like Chicken! Yuck!

Hesh...at one time (in the 60's) Honduras Rosewood was the only wood considered by builders in Spain to be close to Brazilian in terms of sound.

If the wood when scratched has a crisp, glass like tone then it is very low damping and will be a good reflective surface for a sides and back set. It is that aspect of the sound of brazilian rosewood that leads people to state that these other woods sound like BRW.

Wenge, Osage Orange, and Honduras Rosewood are just a few of the woods that sound nearly as good as BRW.
